September is “Senate Report on Cannabis Awareness Month”September 4th, 2012 marked the 10-year anniversary of the landmark 2002 “Senate Report on Cannabis” [the committee unanimously recommended legalization] and NORML Canada is commemorating this anniversary with a campaign that includes a new website dedicated to making the findings in this report easily accessible to Canadians. Recently, we’ve added a number of *If you know of other Canadian politicians’ positions on cannabis policy, please us know. You can reply to this email, or use the contact form on the campaign website. Visit the campaign website to see all the Senate Committee materials we have available and please get behind this effort to educate Canadians and to bring about a national, honest conversation about cannabis policy. The “How You Can Help” page offers several suggestions for ways to participate. Many Canadians mistakenly believe the issue of cannabis prohibition doesn’t concern them if they don’t consume cannabis, but this is truly an issue that all Canadians have a vested interest in… “The continued prohibition of cannabis jeopardizes the health and well-being of Canadians much more than does the substance itself.”

After a decade it is even more important for every Government to invest to understand, confront and control violence. Recently in front of the Senate Legal and Constitutional Committee, Minister Toews declared that his main objective was to fight violence.
